Marseille and San Francisco, November 10, 2021 鈥听Unistellar has been honored with a听for the eVscope 2, the world鈥檚 most powerful digital telescope for consumers, in the Digital Imaging/Photography category. The announcement was made ahead of听, the world鈥檚 most influential technology event. The 2022 Innovations Awards program received more than 1,800 submissions, a record-high number for the CES.
The听听eVscope 2 allows users to experience deep space鈥攆aster and clearer than ever鈥攔evealing the out-of-this world beauty of galaxies, nebulae, comets, star clusters and beyond. Unistellar鈥檚 smart telescope design makes it possible for stargazers to explore the wonders of the Universe from anywhere on Earth, including their backyards or the heart of a city, without prior experience.
With unmatched speed and accuracy powered by Unistellar鈥檚 proprietary technologies (Enhanced Vision, Autonomous Field Detection, Light Pollution Reduction), the eVscope 2 is the most user-friendly and powerful consumer space instrument. The eVscope 2 features an electronic eyepiece that leverages Nikon鈥檚 pioneering optical expertise, as well as a 7.7 megapixel enhanced image resolution, the highest of any digital telescope.
eVscope 2 users can also challenge the frontiers of our knowledge in partnership with astronomers, through Unistellar鈥檚 citizen science campaigns. The eVscope 2 can be used to detect asteroids, distant planets in other solar systems, comets, supernovae and more, helping expand our knowledge of the Universe.
鈥淏y honoring Unistellar with this new award, CES is once again contributing to the rise of New Astronomy,鈥 said Laurent Marfisi, Chief Executive Officer, Unistellar. 鈥淭hrough groundbreaking technology,听 consumers can now experience space at a much deeper, emotional and meaningful level than ever, to the point of contributing to scientific discoveries. Each of us can now experience a cosmic adventure.鈥
The CES 2022 Innovation Awards marks the second time Unistellar has been recognized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). In 2018, Unistellar鈥檚 original eVscope telescope received a CES Innovation Award in the 鈥淭ech for a Better World鈥 category recognizing the incredible impact such a new consumer technology would have for science and education. Since then, the company has released two new products and attracted more than 5,000 users worldwide, creating the world鈥檚 largest community of explorers of the Universe. Many contributed to scientific research, like in October 2021 when members of the Unistellar community got invited to the NASA鈥檚 Lucy mission launch in gratitude for the observations they made with their eVscope to help this space exploration mission.
CES 2022 visitors will be able to enjoy the Unistellar experience firsthand in Las Vegas. The eVscope 2 will be showcased on Nikon鈥檚 booth (booth 17917, LVCC) from January 5 to 8. On January 8, Unistellar will join a star party organized at the Neon Museum, allowing visitors to observe galaxies and nebulae from downtown Las Vegas, benefiting from a brand new era of space exploration.
Exclusively for Media Attending CES
Each night, from January 4 to 6, media are invited to join Unistellar and observe deep space while overlooking panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip. Experience the eVscope 2鈥檚 powerful Light Pollution Reduction technology firsthand as you observe from a wraparound terrace at The Cosmopolitan overlooking the iconic fountains. Take a tour of the winter sky鈥檚 most iconic objects, including colorful nebulae, vibrant star clusters, distant galaxies, and more. Cocktails and desserts will be served; RSVP required.
